  • News on BARC Touring Trophy Jul 25-26?

I know it's a fluid situation these days and we are all focusing on the first event happening July 4-5th but is there any news on the BARC 25th-26th weekend?

It would be great to see all CASC races listed on Motorsportreg at beginning of season to help promote events and get registrations started.

The BARC event is still a go. Our race director is working on a tentative schedule. You can plan to be there. I will see about getting our event posted on Motorsportreg.

Great news, thanks for the update Bryan. I might be asking too much too soon but any word on the allowances for amount of crew and kids under 15? The current one for this weekend is limited to 2 crew and no one under 15 and we aren't able to attend because of that. A number of motorsports communities are allowing at least 5 crew and no restrictions on age (kids are at very little risk).

There is a BARC Race Committee meeting Tuesday evening July 7. Might be more info later or in a few days.

x2 for letting kids under 15 in! Also, still not on Motorsport Reg.

Heads up for any drivers that hold off registering until just before the event.

For some reason the club has said that if you are not registered by 22 July you will be charged a $100 late fee.

lets get some numbers in there fast.

Increasing the late fee was a decision of the CASC-OR race committee last November back before COVID-19 happened. It was to be applied as early as a week to ten days before the event as well.

The goal was to give organizers a clearer idea earlier of what their entry was going to be by getting people to enter earlier.

Given the COVID-19 situation, BARC-OC has set it to start the Thursday prior to the event.

Compeitotrs haven't seen it because BARC's is the first event on the pre-COVID-19 region schedule to be held.

We don't actually want to collect it. Enter before next Thursday (it's actually supposed to be the 23rd) and we'll both be happy.

Open up Registrations earlier before an event. That was also decided last November.

Sounds like there was some logic in deciding this but my point in posting was to inform all of the drivers because it is a new change and would catch people by surprise. Pretty much no one reads these forums anymore so I expect there are hundreds of drivers that still do not know about this.

As Ed has made mention, opening up registration earlier was also discussed. It is impossible for anyone to try to promote these events if registration is open only a week before the event.

does it really help to know one day earlier how many people are planning to attend?
