  • Fowler Dial Bore Gauge - Anyone tried one of these

I would like to buy a Dial Bore Gauge to check bearing clearances, since this is just a hobby thing for me I don't want to spend any more than I have too.

It appears that the Fowler 2"-6" gauge gets good reviews, has anyone tried one of these, any plus or minus feedback would be appreciated.

I have a couple of those tools and I really like them. I’m in a similar situation looking for cost effective stuff. If you’re looking at roundness of a bore these are nice because you can turn the gage and watch the needle. You need a micrometer to calibrate cause you can slide the gage body up and down on the tube to adjust the reading.
