  • Track Status

It's official! The track Guru Tom P informs me that we have NEVER been in as good a shape at this time of year before in the history our sport.

The track is not only plowed and tramped but we have legal height banks and our initial flood went down last night...

Now, if would only stop snowing we'll be in better shape as we cannot flood the track when it's snowing.

Hey, track looks great! I mean...I imagine it looks great because I haven't seen it but I've heard it looks great.

P.S. I'm pretty almost seriously serious.

Passed by the fairgrounds last Sunday, couldn't get in, gate closed, full of snow in front, BUT, track from roadway looks Fabulous. Now, the car . . . .Oh My Gosh - the car - as noted by others, many things to do.

Two floods since my last post and we are looking at another for tomorrow -21 at night.

Temps are not "Bag Biti'n" yet but the base is solid ...

Yes but that temperature does cause snotcycles.

minus 24 this am in Minden. Flooded last night again. Almost 100% coverage on the track for the base.

Just bracing for a big storm and hoping that it is solid enough to plow off next week.

                            Re: Track Status

Our track builder extrodinaire informed me a couple nights ago that this is the first year that he may actually have to call in the township in DECEMBER to help move some snow. They won't be trucking it out, but apparently there's so much snow in the fairgrounds and in/on the banks, that his equipment can't move it. He needs the highway plows in to move some banks.

He told me that the corner by the quanset hut started out at 80 feet wide and is now down to 64 feet due to mounds and mounds of snow!!!

We don't anticipate having a shortage of snow for banks this season even if we do get the 'usual' January thaw

GOOD....The track was like driving on Highway 35, in the sections where it's 4 lanes. That meant = stomp the thing flat, and turn the wheel 7 degrees left or right....Brakes...what the hell are brakes!

tighten the thing up and add some challenge
