  • KARTS ON ICE ...Anyone?

So after watching a studded Kart last Saturday after racing, turning times in the 1.50 range and after it was pitched at the CASC BOD meeting last night ...

Who would be interested in putting on a Lunch time show this season on the last weekend to prove or disprove that we can be diverse in this sport of Ice Racing ...??

Perhaps attract the numbers that are dwindling ...

Of course this will have to be passed through Tom and the Kinsmen as far as track wear, but I think I will have to garner interest here first.

If any of you guys have a helmet cam vid ...post it here ...
Ice Racing will always be a Black art! So ... In order to finish first, ... first you must Finish!

Nice pics Jim, I wonder if you need that many studs in such a small tire ...

Even with the aggressive studs and high stud count was not a lot of grip (adds to the fun)
About the same as an SS class car.
Remember the total package with driver is under 350 lb.
Motor used for the test is normally used for novice kart racers 7 yrs old.
Still quite quick when you are out in the open with your bum 1" off the ice

First you must build, test and evaluate.
              More tire testing this weekend...

I will bring my kart up for the lunch time race for sure!

Thanks Stef, do you know if all the carts will be the same class or could there be the potential for shifter stuff? I would like to keep them as close as possible in power. Like the one that was there.

And I'm totally presuming that you had permission from the Tom for this ...

I don't think the kart guys have the stones to run one of them on ice
Stef may have other ideas though

There should be a class for F-500. The locals would just mistake the sound for a bunch of snowmobiles.
