  • solo II on ice

I'm fairly new to car racing, so forgive my ignorance.
I understand this forum is dedicated to car racing on an ice track.
I was wondering if there is solo II equivalent organized on ice somewhere not too far from Toronto? I can't crash my car, :-)

WOSCA has the winter Solo 2 series in the usual place. Most times there's a combination of snow, ice, water and exposed pavement.
Even Senna confessed he occasionally went too far, as was the case in qualifying for the 1988 Monaco Grand Prix, where he became a passenger on a surreal ride into the unknown. Already on pole, he went faster and faster and was eventually over two seconds quicker than Prost in an identical McLaren. "Suddenly, it frightened me," Ayrton said, "because I realised I was well beyond my conscious understanding. I drove back slowly to the pits and did not go out anymore that day."

        Stan,

If you really want to get into it just come on up to Minden and check it out. Yes I agree don't race your solo car but for a few hundred dollars you can race on ice in the Magnum Fine Printing Ice Race Series complete with points and trophies.

This would be so good for the regular Solo drivers to hone your driving technique.

Cost is minimal and we allow passengers.

Drop up and go for a ride. I'll bet you'll have your own car by the next week.

Actually you cannot ice race a regular solo racer as we do not permit headlights or any body trim.

If you want more info give me a call.

          thanks,
of course, I'll be coming to WOSCA events. just wanted to know if there is something similar, or more like solo 1 available in the winter, but less dependent on th eweather. I mean, th elot can be snow covered or not with 50/50 chances only.

Minden? - I may come to see, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for racing against others (not just against the clock).

no, I don't need anybody to show me how to crash my car, :-)

Just think that those other cars are the pilons.

If you love to zoom around a lot then ice racing is for you. Actually if you just like to sit behind a wheel of a car, ice racing is for you.

Come on up and go for a ride, you won't be disappointed.
