We are strictly RFactor. It doesn't cost money.

            Hi Pat,

I'd like to give it a try. I've got Rfactor, but never raced online with it. Where can I get the Rush mod?

How good a computer do you need to run RFactor?

I've been racing online in Gran Turismo 6 only because I didn't think my computer was up to iRacing etc and I didn't feel like paying for iRacing.

Seeing as RFactor is free the price is right.

                      Re: off season league racing.

Up until April of this year I was playing on a computer built in 2008. It was a dual core 2.2 with an old I gig video card. But, tracks are getting more graphics intense, for example, some tracks are a 60 meg download and now some are 200 megs. Mods can go up to 400 megs. Really though, its not that bad. A good processor and a good stand alone video card is what you need.

Integrated graphics don't usually cut it but I hear the new AMD A10 processor with integrated is very powerful. I'm partial to HP, AMD, and NVidia but these days, everyone's got their act pretty much together.

We have Brian on line already. Big race tonight at Sochi.

                        Re: off season league racing.

                        Well I've got:

                        2.1Ghz AMD Dual Core
ATI Radeon 3100 (I think) 1470Mb Vid RAM

                        3GB RAM

so I guess the home comp might do it....just

But the "other" laptop should kick arse.....try and get it set up in the next few days.

                        Thanks

                        Rob

                          Re: off season league racing.

that might work. The problem is with all the cars moving the drawing rate goes way up. That can cause lag and/ or a disco. Still worth a try.

The problem with laptops is the heat. Still, I know guys who use them for simulators no problem.

I JUST installed rFactor1 and picked up a wheel/pedals the other day... any beginner friendly races to join?

I'm not bad at the driving part, but have a BAD perception of where other cars are and might hit people without even seeing them
