I recall some conversation about waiving the height restriction for certain vehicles, like the BMW X5. Where is this rule now?

1.5 VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
The vehicle must meet the following basic requirements:
.1 A wheelbase of 183 cm (72") or longer; front and rear tracks of 107 cm (42") or wider.
The maximum permissible height of competing vehicles is 160 cm (63 inches).
No idea what the height of a BMW X5 is.Chuck Atkins

Re: Height Restriction waivers?
The X5 is 69.5" in height. But, it handles better than many lighter, lower vehicles. That's lower than a Ford Lightning. You've seen the Ford Lightnings haul ass around Mosport.
I have a friend that drives an X5 too fast on the street, and I was hoping to get her into the school. Anyone from the CCC care to comment?

Re: Height Restriction waivers?
A phenomenal driver. Great reflexes and driving know how.
The SoloSprint Committee has already used this height restriction to restrict other trucks from participating in SoloSprint events. If memory serves me correctly, someone last year wanted to run a lowered p/u truck. The answer was no. SoloSprint is strictly for vehicles under the height indicated in the rules.Chuck Atkins

Re: Height Restriction waivers?
OK. The thread from last year is here:
http://www.casc.on.ca/forums/showthr...ghlight=height
and there was no clear final answer in the thread, hence my question.
If she wants to come, she'll have to borrow or rent a car.
Thanks
