      I voted Maybe...budget,
but distance is also a factor... with 2 young children, I also have to budget time away from the family!

I have heard great things about Calabogie and I will run there one day....
I said the same about Mosport GP and finally made it this year

Re: The *Official* (un-official) Calabogie Poll!

Some said that Calabogie is a great track but they dont like the looooong and expensive travel, but then say "how about Tremblant ....?"
I am wondering, Tremblant must be twice as good of a track as Calabogie then, because you would have to travel twice as far ... for you GTA folks

I have driven both, Tremblant and Calabogie a few times ...both tracks have their specialties. I really dont have a favorite track right now as I like all the big tracks (nearby) each for their particular features. If I REALLY would like to participate somewhere at an event, I will make it work ... something else will be adjusted ... even with a limited budget.

        Watkins Glen ... 5 1/2 hrs drive
        Mosport ... 3 1/2 hrs
        Tremblant ... 2 1/2 hrs
        Calabogie ... 25 min...

cause I have been to calabogie already..been there done that...I have not been to tremblant..so if I am gonna schelp that far I would prefer to go to a track that is new..

I dunno, been to Mosport, done that, but long to go back. Boggie is of the same caliber IMO. Rather drive to Ottawa than Dunville or Cayuga.

When is the new oval/road course near Fort Erie opening?

According to their website, 2011. That seems a bit ambitious. But what do I know about building racetracks.

W.R.T. Calabogie ... sounds like the "tentative" 2010 schedule is out, and no CMP. Too bad. Thought if we could rally enough enthusiasm, we might be able to build a case for it . Maybe in 2011?

                    WRT Calabogie:

We would need at least 50 plus competitors from Ontario who were absolutely dedicated to returning to this track. On top of that we would need at least another 30 plus competitors from Quebec and the Atlantic provinces to make this a viable option. And then we would need a club willing to organize such an event.

This could be a possible venue for the 2010 National event??? Any club(s) willing to make a proposal to ASN to host such an event?
