What is Ontario Time Attack (OTA)?
* One of the most affordable forms of motorsport to access and compete on Ontario’s finest race tracks.
* Drive your car to the limit against the clock without worrying about passing or car-to-car contact.
* A great place to enjoy the thrill of pushing yourself and your car; competitors here are also friends, teachers, and mentors.
* A Time Attack School at the beginning of the year to get you up to speed for competition along with a second school in the middle of the summer to build comfort level on higher speed tracks like Mosport International Raceway.
* Generous lapping time during events giving you a chance to practice and improve on your skills or ride along with experienced racers.
* Price of admission accounts for hired marshals and organizers, you can spend your off time tuning or reviewing data.
What are the typical costs and what do I need get involved?
* First you need a car in good mechanical condition. (~$500 to $1,000,000)
* An up to date Snell rated helmet (loaners are not generally provided) (~$200+)
* Membership to an affiliated automotive club for a nominal annual fee, see the CASC Club List (~$25-$50)
* A CASC-OR Class C license (No testing required, ~$60) – Link to licence
Car Classification System
* At OTA, we have developed a linear classification system that classifies every car based on its factory performance and modifications that have been made. Drivers compete against vehicles with similar performance capabilities to their own. (Rule Book)
* To see which class your car falls into, click here. If your car is not listed, the Car Classification Committee (CCC) will add it to the database upon request.
* Many competitors use their street cars.
