  • DDT Driving School... worth taking a second time?

I started Solo 1 last year for the first time and took the DDT school and it was great but only got out to one extra event last year (+ some Solo II) so haven't progressed much

I know they broke the group up into three different capability levels, but I was in the middle, so I don't know what the other groups learned.

So my question is: would it be beneficial to take it again or should I just take in some lapping days to get back up to speed?

PS: I am taking the big track Mosport but that's at the end of the season!

    Any thoughts would be great...

Any school is always beneficial, regardless of skill level. It never hurts to have someone else remind you of your bad driving habits (and we ALL have them! ).

FYI, there is also an OMSC lapping day on April 29 at the DDT.

I've taken over 6 days of advanced driving and racing courses over the last 6 years. And I'm taking the 2 day TRAC racing school again this spring.
I always learn new things and improve every time a take a course.

whether or not you will learn anything depends on the competence and ability to teach of your instructor, there are many great drivers, but if they suck at teaching, then its a moot point.

i'm just doing it for the extra track time, free event, and the chance that i get a good instructor.

I'm also planning on doing it a second time, I figure if nothing else the track time will be beneficial to me, since I'll be in a different car this year.

Thanks for the info... I guess it boils down to:
seat time + no feedback = insanity
seat time + feedback = improvement!

I did the MCO Lapping School at SMP last summer and took nearly 2 sec off my best time. There is no hardware improvement I can do to my car for that money that will give an equal result. I've signed up for TRAC school and will probably do at least one other this year.
Fun and the best bang for your buck.

Re: DDT Driving School... worth taking a second time?

Registration should open on or just prior to the Open House on April 2nd.

Ana will no doubt be setting up the events in CASC's on-line registration system.

Best to make sure that your club either lets you register on-line, or has updated the CASC list with your membership info so you can access the Members Only area!
