    ? on choice of 2 cars

    91 VW Jetta,5 speed from Saskatchewan with 225000 km original paint .
    very clean car $2000
    OR
    94 Grand Am with 185000 KM .$1500 also clean car
    pros and cons what would you choose

    No question for me. I'd take the VW. I'm a bit of a sucker for older VWs anyway, and I've never been much of a dometic car guy, so perhaps I'm a bit biased...
    As for pros and cons, well they tend to be solid and reliable, if a little slow. I want to say parts are cheap, but in comparison to a domestic... maybe not as cheap. Certainly they are much cheaper to maintain than my car...

      sask doesn't use salt on the roads.

          Depends. I would never get any of the new VWs that are made in mexico. I haven't seen so many failures in a car since teh 3rd gen rx7s.
